FRANCE NATURE
As one of the largest Western regions of Europe, there is a lot to know about France nature and the geography.
France is located in Western Europe bordering the Bay of Biscay and the English Channel. France is located between Belgium and Spain and is southeast of the United Kingdom. France also borders the Mediterranean Sea in between Italy and Spain. There are other bordering countries to France such as Andorra, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, and Switzerland.
France nature and land boundaries are over 211,000 square miles of land and over 500 square miles of water throughout the country. There are over 2,000 miles of coastline also.
The climate of France is generally cool winters and mild summers. Along the Mediterranean, there are mild winter and hot summers with occasional strong, cold and dry and strong northwestern winds.
France nature provides many natural resources such as coal, iron, ore, zinc, uranium, bauxite, arsenic, potash, feldspar, fluorospar, gypsum, timber, and fish from the sea.
France nature also provides for several natural hazards that create problems throughout the country and are commonly expected. Flooding is a danger that happens throughout France because of the heavy rains and the Mediterranean Sea levels rising. Avalanches occur often in the winter and can be known to be deadly to some people and skiers. Midwinter windstorms can be dangerous to some people. Drought is a hazard that affects the small amount of the crops that France grows. Another France nature hazard is forest fires that occur in the south near the Mediterranean Sea.
France partakes in many environmental International agreements because they care about France nature issues such as air pollution with nitrogen oxide issues, sulfur, organic compounds, Antarctic marine life and seals, hazardous wastes, endangered species, and more groups. France also believes in protecting the ozone layer and against whaling.
There are many aspects to France nature including the climate, the region, and the geography. The nature in France is diverse due to the mountains, the sea, and the diverse weather conditions. France nature agreements consist of promises made internationally not to take part in things that will hurt the animals, marine life, and nature.
